#WikimediaFoundation had a deadline of 24 July 2026 to voluntarily recognise #WikiWorkersUnitedUS [1], the newly created union of #WMF employees in the US. On 27 July, WMF replied "No!" Please take a moment to pause this #wikimania and realise that wiki was just fine before the #WMF and will almost certainly continue to be fine after the #WMF Forks are hard because negotiating common cause with other folks is hard, but we need to be negotiating common cause anyway. If your common cause is not being reflected by WMF leadership and paid staff, have a think about why that might be.

#wiktionary folks, can you please send me your best entries? Some complete non-techies have asked for some tech help and I need exemplars to talk over on the way to a shared understanding. It's a minority language wikitionary, but examples in any language happily received. #Wikimedia #WMF
