Looks like the AUR of Arch Linux has drawn another round of fire. This time it appears to be a malware integrated into the build() step that comes with the PKGBUILD repo. Possibly Tor using. If the build() step calls some binary like validator, assembler, optimizer, ... that comes with the AUR repo with sudo and suddenly and unexplained appears in the PKGBUILD be very suspicious. Back around 1993, when I wanted to run #linux at home, I had to double the memory of my system from 4MB to 8MB. Yes, MEGABytes. 😇 It cost me 100UKP for the extra stick, so I could run Slackware 2 efficiently and work from home, to interface with the University Unix system. So, the price came down… over time… but today’s silly artificially inflated prices? No thanks. #ram #memory #pc #upgrades
