(Adnkronos) - E' morto Sandro Mazzola, campione dell'Inter e della Nazionale. Avrebbe compiuto 84 anni il prossimo 8 novembre. Figlio di Valentino Mazzola, capitano del Grande Torino scomparso nella tragedia di Superga, Sandro Mazzola ha legato tutta la sua carriera all'Inter, con cui ha giocato per 17 stagioni conquistando 4 scudetti, 2 Coppe dei Campioni e 2 Coppe Intercontinentali. Con la Nazionale italiana vinse l'Europeo del 1968 e fu protagonista del Mondiale del 1970. È considerato una delle più grandi bandiere della storia nerazzurra e uno dei più forti calciatori italiani di tutti i tempi.

Una frase che lo rappresenta bene, pronunciata spesso parlando dell'Inter, era: "L'Inter non è soltanto una squadra, è una parte della mia vita". Oggi il calcio italiano perde uno dei suoi simboli più autentici.

Son of Valentino Mazzola, captain of the Grande Torino who disappeared in the Superga tragedy, Sandro Mazzola dedicated his entire career to Inter, with whom he played for 17 seasons winning 4 Scudetto titles, 2 European Cups and 2 Intercontinental Cups. With the Italian National Team, he won the European Championship in 1968 and was a key player at the 1970 World Cup. He is considered one of the greatest Inter flags throughout history and one of the strongest Italian footballers of all time.

With a heavy burden on his shoulders, the memory of a father who seemed invincible.
