🇬🇧 Peter Gabriel "Live at WOMAD 1982" – 2025 A fascinating document from the very first WOMAD festival. The performance reflects his growing interest in world music and cross-cultural collaboration. And then it's mostly a show off of his fourth album which is my favourite... 👍 #petergabriel #womad #worldmusic #livemusic #progressiverock #artrock #experimental #vinyl #music #vinylrecords #nowspinningonvinyl #nowspinning #nowlistening

Some progressive rock to close proceedings for me - although this is actually one of a couple of classical pieces composed by King Crimson that appeared on their early albums: From the concert at Gunnar Sævigs Sal, May 15th 2026 in celebration of Robert Fripp’s 80th birthday., feat, Anna Bracke, oboe: King Crimson - Prelude: Song of the Gulls (cover): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH0HXI9pn0g #Birds #JukeboxFridayNight #ClassicalMusic #prog #progressiverock

New #review today: "#Delirium's Sesta Strada lungo il Tempo is the latest chapter in a musical journey that now spans more than five decades. Emerging from the first wave of Italian #ProgressiveRock in the early 70s, surviving a hiatus of more than thirty years, and returning with a string of increasingly confident releases, the Genoese group continues to explore familiar themes of time, memory, travel, and the human condition. More importantly, they continue to do so with a vitality that many younger bands would envy." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/delirium-sesta-strada-lungo-il-tempo-6.html

New #review today: "It has been five years since we last heard from Russian band #Detieti. Much has changed since 2018's Frogressive Punk. Where that album reveled in eclecticism, stylistic collisions, and a healthy sense of musical mischief, Spotonica, released in May 2026, finds the band pursuing a more focused vision." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock #AvantProg #AddictedLabelBNiL http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/detieti-spotonica-6.html

New #review today: "Who is #LOmbraDellaSera? A new Italian progressive rock band named after the mysterious Etruscan statuette featured in the cult television series Ritratto di Donna Velata? Not quite. L'Ombra della Sera is actually the alter ego of #LaMascheraDiCera." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock #MasceraDiCera #OmbraDellaSera http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/lombra-della-sera-segreti-nel-nero-6.html

New #review: "The genesis of Voci Notturne is as intriguing as the music itself. #ExpiatoriA vocalist #DavideCiccarelli (aka Krieg) initiated the concept, a split release centered on the 90s Italian TV miniseries of the same name, and #IlSegnoDelComando immediately recognized the terrain, stepping in with their cinematic, occult, and deliberately mysterious sensibilities. The result is a seven-track collaboration that plays less like a traditional split and more like two parallel readings of the same shadowed narrative." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/expiatoria-il-segno-del-comando-voci-notturne-6.html

New #review today: "It won’t take more than ten or fifteen seconds into the opening track “How Dreams Do Creep (for Souls Asleep),” a nine-minute three part epic, to know that #IanNeal loves #ProgressiveRock and exactly who his biggest influence is; it sounds like he’s carefully studied and immersed himself in the sounds of #TonyBanks’ synthesizers, in particular the post-Gabriel #Genesis era from Trick of the Tail through Duke." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/ian-neal-this-gemlike-flame-3.html

New #review today: "Over the last 13 years, Sweden’s #Agusa has done something a lot of so-called “retro” prog acts never quite pull off: they’ve made the past feel present-tense. Yes, the ingredients are familiar — late-60s/early-70s #ProgressiveRock, Scandinavian folk melodies, touches of #Krautrock repetition — but this isn’t museum work. It’s muscle memory. It breathes, expands, contracts." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/agusa-panacea-6.html

New #review today: "#LorenzoBedini is best known as the primary songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of British #ProgressiveRock band #Airbridge going all the way back to their 1982 debut Paradise Moves, as well as all the more recent incarnations of the band beginning with the four-song EP Return in 2013. I suppose over the years he had composed some material that didn’t precisely fit the Airbridge sound, so it finds its way to life here on Bedini’s first solo album, Who Never Was." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/lorenzo-bedini-who-never-was-3.html

New #review today: "It was nearly 20 years ago now that I first heard HottoïzzoH, the debut EP by #OnségenEnsemble, and their first full-length album, Awalaï, came out in 2016. After that initial long gap, they managed three more albums at two-year intervals, followed by a four-year span until Realms, and now we have A Tale after a further four years." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock #SpaceRock #PostRock http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/onsegen-ensemble-a-tale-2.html

New #review today: "It’s been a few years since #Asceta’s previous album, and during that time some things haven’t changed, but other things have. The group remains an octet pursuing a #ChamberRock sound that shares a style with some contemporary bands from Europe (as well as other parts of the planet) loosely under the influence of #Bartók and #Stravinsky, using both chamber and rock instrumentation together." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock #AvantProg http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/asceta-the-fool-leading-the-blind-3.html

New #review today: "#ThinkLikeAKeyRecords continues its run of archival excavations with The #KibboKift - The 1976 Rock Musical by #MaxwellHutchinson and #JudgeSmith (best known as a co-founder of #VanDerGraafGenerator). The concept is undeniably compelling: a dramatization of the eccentric British youth movement that evolved from pastoral, quasi-mystical idealism into something far more ideological. On paper, it sits squarely in the lineage of S.F. Sorrow, Tommy, and even The Kinks’ Preservation." #ExposeOnline #PsychedelicRock #ProgressiveRock #RockMusical http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/maxwell-hutchinson-judge-smith-the-kibbo-kift-the-1976-rock-musical-6.html

New #review today: "Decades ago Musea leased a CD titled Voices Beyond My Curtain by an Italian five-piece band called #TaleCue. It followed a self-titled cassette release by the band two years earlier. And it seems that was the end of their story, at least until late last year, when out of the blue a second Tale Cue CD finally appeared 36 years after the first. Surprisingly, after all those years, the core of the band is still intact." #ExposeOnline #ProgressiveRock http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/tale-cue-eclipse-of-the-midnight-sun-3.html

New #review today: "After a five-year gap, #Ping is back with another set of off-kilter rock songs. Songs from the Nebula carries on from The Zigzag Manoeuvre with eleven slices of unpredictable music. While not much of it actually sounds like #FrankZappa, it’s apparent that the influence looms large in their minds, working from a willingness to warp various styles into a humorous sculpture of theatrical craziness." #ExposeOnline #ApollonRecords #ArtRock #ProgressiveRock http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/ping-songs-from-the-nebula-2.html

Another pick for this week's #TuneTuesday theme, #thebubble. This otherworldly early seventies classic is probably a fairly obvious choice for a Finn: Pekka Streng & Tasavallan presidentti: Sisältäni portin löysin (1970) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP1tcsVoFOU Pekka Streng (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pekka_Streng) was still a quite obscure cult figure during my teenage years in the early 1980s. I think I may have read about him in Esko Lehtonen's "Suomalaisen rockin tietosanakirja" ("The Encyclopedia of Finnish Rock") before I actually heard this record for the first time on the radio. I do remember that bought a reissue version of his second album ("Kesämaa", 1972) at the very first record fair I ever attended, at Lepakkoluola in Helsinki back in 1987. #pekkastreng #finnishmusic #progressiverock #progrock
