One of these days I'm going to take the time to write up, with examples, an explanation of why I think the books of Neal Stephenson and Jim Butcher function as fan lit for incels and redpilled men. It took me a while to see it, but that's partly because I was reading these books while those reactionary fascism-adjacent (and pipeline) movements were being built, and as I was developing my own political morality. But yeah. It's hard to read those anymore, especially Stephenson. Once I saw the patterns, I couldn't unsee them. #sff #IWillTotallyDoThisSomeday #procrastination #nealstephenson #jimbutcher

  • has the privilege of being able to choose paid work that benefits the world and ...
  • philosophises briefly on the world and then at length on the text he has written;
  • fact-checks what he shares, and the authors he quotes, but sometimes not, or only afterwards;
