This Monarch butterfly, if part of a summer generation lives for two to six weeks as an adult, is not yet finished probing for nectar. If part of the migratory generation that can live for up to nine months, it's far from finished and is fueling up for the long journey from Pennsylvania to Mexico, (though declines in milkweed and roosting sites along the flyway have conspired to dwindle the number of monarchs making the trip).
