On this final Friday of my summer break before I return to begin a new school year, I’ve got turbulent thoughts swirling in my bewildered head. I start the year #teaching #Frankenstein and will have to find a way to temper my growing urge to rant furiously about the parallels to the #AI monster the tech bros have created. But unlike in the Mary Shelley universe, we’ve allowed this monster born out of hubris to seep into our reality and destroy us from within instead. #literature #Bookstodon

So, we did watch ‘Frankenstein’ earlier in the week. There are a lot of good things about it, but unfortunately I’d say it’s uneven and nowhere near GdT’s best films. FEIW Cinema Kid liked it more than me. #Frankenstein #GuillermoDelToro

My lingering thought on #Frankenstein is, what is up with Guillermo Del Toro's fixation on the color red? I mean, he made a whole movie called Crimson Peak. And red fabric, blood red, brilliant crimsons come up again and again in his films.
