#eveonline

Ok when I played #eveonline today, I achieved a partial move to our new staging system to catch up with people who moved 2 weeks ago.

And then I had to update our auth application that bridges the game API to our corporation services as the tax system broke, so I had to:

  • pip upgrade everything
  • debug why django migrations failed
  • realise I now have a minimum python dependency of 3.11
  • build python3.11 for ubuntu focal using a git repo that had it packaged
  • migrate to a new python3.11 venv
  • realise mariadb was EOL as of 3 weeks ago
  • backup the databse
  • migrate to a newer version of mariadb
  • run django migrations
  • debug why migrations failed
  • run django migrations
  • debug why migrations failed
  • import the entire eve online static data import to the db as it's changed
  • manually find one row with an errant item now deleted and delete it from the database
  • finish migrations
  • collect static data
  • fail to run the application
  • rewrite the supervisorctl files to reference the new venv after trying to just rename the venv and hitting a cascade of shebang fuckery
  • successfully run the application

Anyway it's 0120 so that's me played a few hours of eve now. I hate modern webapps and python and suchlike.

March's gaming journal is updated - stats thanks to TempusGameIt, yay! For the 3rd month in a row, #WorldofWarcraft reigned supreme, and #EVEOnline almost fell right off with only 5h played for the month. I also played Mario Kart World with the family and reminded them all that NO ONE BEAT'S MOM. It was awesome.
