Anybody out close to the Las Vegas, NV area that may be able to help out a close, sensitive friend of mine out that way, and provide temporary shelter for? She's getting distraught, neglected and poorly treated by her abusive brother, doesn't have family elsewhere; She needs resource and someone to help look after her, but I don't know who to turn to. She has a few months until she's getting kicked out in January. Also welcome to boost and DM me for reach! #MutualAidRequest #domestic #nevada

Now the father/ Senator is calling for jail time for opposing counsel, after they published nude photos of his granddaughter. Maddeningly (or predictably?), the offender (the attorney who posted nude photos of a toddler) uses his time at the mic to attack the victim (accuser), claiming she's trying to get press and taint the jury pool against his client (House Rep Max Miller). @MsDropbear42@blahaj.zone I have the same problem (though the vertical blinds were already there when I moved in). Not just the way they are falling down, but even when they aren't falling down, they get all tangled up. I remember seeing once a demo in a shopping centre, of something that was a sort of cross between curtains and vertical blinds, in that they were full like curtains, but they could be turned like vertical blinds, and they alternated opaque panels with semi-transparent ones. Can I remember what they were called? No. But I would like to replace my vertical blinds with something like that. #Curtains #Blinds #VerticalBlinds #Domestic

Cuba’s #economy has been mired in stagnation for years, crippled by the #communist government’s failed #economic model and #domestic #policies, while also strained by decades of U.S. #sanctions.

Helsinki Times - Helsinki Times | Payment defaults in Finland rise towards peak levels The number of people registered with payment defaults in Finland has risen to more than 385,000, bringing the total close to the highest level on record, according to new data released for the first quarter of 2026. Figures compiled by credit data firm Asiakastieto show an increase of about 12,000 individuals compared with the same period last year. At the end of March 2026, the total stood slightly above 385,000, up from around 373,000 a year earlier. @mlanger@mastodon.world Yes, propane! Most #narrowboats have #propane #cookers. It can also be used for #heating. Alde is probably the leading brand for producing #propane boilers for boats that will run radiators as a #domestic #boiler will. #Diesel #heaters are also popular. Eberspacher and Webasto being the main brands though many fit very competitively priced Chinese units, but I read somewhere that they are not approved for marine use and should they start a fire insurance would be invalid. A few #liveaboard boaters have larger Aga or Rayburn oil or solid fuel fired cookers that will also drive radiators I referred to #cooker rather than #stove deliberately. Almost all privately owned narrow boats have small traditional style #solidfuel (wood/coal) stoves fitted. On 19th century #boats theses would have been used both for heating and cooking. On modern boats they are usually stand alone heaters in the saloon, but some will be fitted with boilers and drive radiators elsewhere on the boat.
