Er zijn belangrijke lessen te trekken over onze crisisparaatheid. Maar zolang we niet ophouden met #natuurvernietiging en we ook niet ingrijpen in de veehouderij is de nieuwe pandemie een kwestie van tijd. #vogelgriep is een goede kandidaat en Nederland zit met zijn intensieve #pluimveehouderij op een #tokkendetijdbom. Het is niet de vraag óf het weer gaat gebeuren maar wanneer. Net zoals er voor #corona al jarenlang gewaarschuwd is.

It’s one of the most unexpected passages in Giampaolo Manca’s account, the former man of the Mala del Brenta known as “the Doge,” who, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, recounts years of prison, crime, and redemption. Manca, now 72 years old, spent decades between hiding, arrests, and detention, until collaboration with justice and a path that he now recounts also in a documentary film dedicated to his life. In the interview with Corriere, he talks primarily about the Opera prison, where he would have come into contact with mafia bosses, terrorists, and famous people. Among these was Fabrizio Corona. “He wanted to be a flashy character with the Albanians but he took a lot of beatings,” Manca tells Corriere, saying he saw him crying after the attack. Corona spent several periods in the Opera prison in the years following the convictions related to Vallettopoli and violations of alternative detention measures. During the interview, Manca also brings up Renato Vallanzasca and a supposed plan, never realized, to kidnap Marco Van Basten: an episode already promoted in recent hours also for the clash between crime and Milanese football myth.
