Been working on curating a collection of old Flash and Shockwave games for my #CGHMN site. I've noticed a trend... Shockwave: mostly made by commercial developers. Pretty much all E-rated. Flash: mostly made by amateurs. Crude content is the norm; hard racism, sexism, general bigotry, toilet humor and bad spelling are omnipresent. #RetroComputing #RetroWeb

@khm I just got it set up on #CGHMN and got a Windows XP client talking to it in Firefox 3.6 Now I wanna see how far back the browser compatibility goes!

RE: https://social.treehouse.systems/@CursedSilicon/116893386012419544 Well, after threatening to join #cghmn for the better part of two years, I’ve finally gone and done it. @CursedSilicon@social.treehouse.systems’s video is what finally pushed me over the edge. It helped that other things had settled down and I had infrastructure in place to allow me to do it.

Today's #CGHMN project: the Arcturus FTP Search site. A cobbled-together mess of MySQL 3.23, Python 2.1, and PHP 4.2 running on an old Linux box. I'm going to try to implement the old Archie/Prospero protocol, at least enough to get the old clients to work. Did a little feasibility study last night and I think it's doable. #RetroComputing
