Many regions across the globe are experiencing a #trend towards increased wildfire activity. However, those who refer to the decline in globally summed up burned area over the last 20 years to say otherwise ignore important context and draw an invalid conclusion from the data.
As I predicted in 2023 - It needs to be stressed that institutions commonly linked to systematic #disinformation about climate change are starting to include wildfire in their repertoire and misleading arguments will likely continue to spread and evolve. It is good to check before sharing!
