Natural warming filter courtesy of wildfire smoke in the air today. I took this around 1:00 in the afternoon, and it looks more like golden hour. 📷🌿🪶

Western tanager that showed up at my mom's house in New Mexico for a few days in July. Pretty unusual at her house, though I've seen them at lower elevations near the Rio Grande. It looks kind of chunky here but I saw it stretch its neck a lot to peer around. #birds #birding #NaturePhotography #NewMexico 🐦

For all the bird lovers, the crows have landbacked my roof and regularly host parties in the morning! It's funny to hear the pitter-patter of the crows walking around. Reminds me that I'm not just fighting for the two-leggeds, but my winged family too. #crows #birds #birding #landback #native #indigenous #resist

Someone had found a pair of White Ibis, a day after and no more than 4 miles north of where I saw a pair last Thursday. This pair may have remained there thru the weekend. They were in a neighborhood "lake" that's being dredged. There are no shorebirds there right now, but the shorebird migration just started. #birding

Saw this yellowthroat while hiking near the Glen Huron pond. It is a really pretty bird. It was hiding in the cedar, and would come out for a brief second to examine what I was and why I was stopping. It continuously kept moving, so I had to keep shooting with the camera until I got a couple of good pictures. https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/936567 #birds #bird #birding #Ontario

#whatsthisbird Seen today (7/31/2026) in Webster, Massachusetts, USA. There were two, and they make a high-pitched, repetitive, almost squeaky call. In flight, the tail looked squared-off, wings were pointy. I think this is a Sharp-shinned Hawk. The Merlin app thinks this bird is not here this time of year. I have been unable to get a sound ID, but I will keep trying. I've been seeing these birds for days now. Please share your opinion as to species. #GIMP was used to make the collage. #birding

#nature #birding #birdsOfFediverse #birds #photography #oneLeahADay

One of my favourite ever #paintings - of Bird Migrations - is back in stock as a #teatowel. If you've ever wondered where the #birds go, answers await. It will make drying up a less tedious & an altogether more rewarding experience. 🤣 100% cotton, made in the UK More info: https://janetomlinson.com/products/bird-migration-tea-towel #Art #birding #map #birdmigration #ukbirdwatching

OMG is it even possible to get a legitimate answer for anything on the internet anymore without the top results being "written" by AI and full of ads top to bottom?? And no, I'm not using google search. I was trying to find an explanation for why a Swainson's hawk mother would bring fresh twigs with leaves (and what species it would be) to a nest when the babies are just days away from fledging. I'm adding a photo I from my website if anyone might be able to identify what she has in her mouth. #birds #birdbehavior #birdnest #hawks #swainsonsHawks #bird #birding #birdofPrey
