Marina Berlusconi si oppone alla riforma della legge elettorale che Meloni vorrebbe. Ma è possibile che FI rompa con Meloni?

Gentile lettrice, tutto è possibile in politica, se viene il momento giusto. Rifletto talvolta su un episodio che illustra appieno il cinismo di Meloni. Nel 2022, quando vinse le elezioni, Meloni non solo non offrì un ministero a Berlusconi che aspirava agli Esteri, ma neppure lo consultò per la scelta dei ministri. Nominò Tajani, formalmente capo di Forza Italia ma in realtà un “dipendente” del partito-azienda, senza neppure consultare il capo. Capisco che B. ministro avrebbe fatto ombra a Meloni e sarebbe stato difficilmente addomesticabile, ma lo sgarbo fu gigantesco, anche sul piano umano. Meloni aveva un debito enorme, perché B. l’aveva elevata a ministra quando era solo una ragazzotta che sgomitava nelle retrovie di An ed è con quella nomina che cominciò la parabola ascendente della garbatellara. Di B. si può dire tutto il male o il bene possibile, ma era stato premier per 11 anni, leader politico per 28 anni, aveva avuto rapporti con W. Bush, Putin, Obama, Merkel, Gheddafi, Netanyahu, Erdogan e tutto il cucuzzaro. Aveva esperienza e pensiero politico, pur opinabile, e aveva segnato la storia italiana per tre decenni. Non fu né umano né decente gettarlo via come un calzino bucato. Non sta certo a me difenderlo, ma comunque lo si guardi l’episodio fu vergognoso e dà l’esatta misura della statura politica e umana di Meloni. È dunque possibile che i figli di B., Marina e Pier Silvio, non abbiano dimenticato e un giorno le chiedano il conto. Non piangeremmo.

Dear reader, everything is possible in politics if the right moment arrives. I sometimes reflect on an episode that fully illustrates Meloni’s cynicism. In 2022, when she won the elections, Meloni not only didn’t offer Berlusconi a ministry in Foreign Affairs, but she didn’t even consult him for the choice of ministers. She appointed Tajani, formally the head of Forza Italia but in reality a “company employee,” without even consulting the head. I understand that B. as minister would have overshadowed Meloni and would have been difficult to tame, but the disrespect was enormous, even on a human level. Meloni had a huge debt, because B. had elevated her to a minister when she was just a young girl sneaking around in the backwaters of An, and it was with that appointment that the rise of the Garbatellara began. One can say everything good or bad about B., but she had been prime minister for 11 years, a political leader for 28 years, had had relationships with W. Bush, Putin, Obama, Merkel, Gheddafi, Netanyahu, Erdogan and the whole lot. She had experience and political thought, albeit debatable, and had marked Italian history for three decades. It was neither human nor decent to throw her away like a holey sock. It’s certainly not up to me to defend her, but whatever way one looks at the episode it was shameful and gives the exact measure of Meloni’s political and human stature. It is therefore possible that B.’s children, Marina and Pier Silvio, have not forgotten and one day demand an explanation from her. We wouldn't cry.
