Il Tempo: PD, Casasco: “Schlein è il lupo che si veste da agnello: predica liberalismo ma resta la leader della patrimoniale”
“Elly Schlein oggi prova a parlare il linguaggio dei liberali, ma è il classico lupo che si veste da agnello. Dopo anni passati a sostenere patrimoniali, più tasse e più Stato, adesso scopre la sburocratizzazione, gli investimenti privati e la libertà economica. Una trasformazione che non convince, perché la credibilità si misura con la storia politica e con i fatti, non con gli slogan”. Lo dichiara Maurizio Casasco, deputato di Forza Italia e responsabile economico del partito.
“È una contraddizione evidente – prosegue Casasco –: prima si colpisce il risparmio con nuove imposte, poi si chiede agli italiani di investire quel capitale nell'economia reale. I capitali si attraggono con meno tasse, regole semplici e fiducia, non con le patrimoniali. Le riforme per la competitività, la semplificazione amministrativa, il partenariato tra pubblico e privato e il sostegno alle imprese portano la firma del centrodestra e di Forza Italia, non certo del Partito Democratico”.
“Il vero obiettivo – conclude – è costruire un Paese più competitivo puntando su innovazione, tecnologie, ricerca e investimenti. Per farlo servono meno tasse, meno burocrazia e più libertà economica, nel solco della tradizione liberale di Silvio Berlusconi e dell'azione di Antonio Tajani. È l'esatto contrario delle ricette che la sinistra ha sostenuto per anni e che oggi tenta di mascherare cambiando lessico, ma non sostanza”.

Elly Schlein is trying to speak the language of liberals today, but she’s the classic wolf in sheep’s clothing. After years spent supporting wealth taxes, more taxes, and a bigger state, she now discovers bureaucracy reduction, private investment, and economic freedom. A transformation that doesn't convince, because credibility is measured with history and facts, not slogans. This statement comes from Maurizio Casasco, a deputy of Forza Italia (a right-wing Italian party) and the party’s economic spokesperson.
“It’s an obvious contradiction – Casasco continues –: first you hit savings with new taxes, then you ask Italians to invest that capital in the real economy. Capital is attracted by less tax, simple rules, and trust, not wealth taxes. Reforms for competitiveness, administrative simplification, public-private partnerships, and support for businesses are the signature of the right-wing coalition and Forza Italia, not the Democratic Party.”
“The true objective – he concludes – is to build a more competitive country by focusing on innovation, technology, research, and investment. To do this you need less tax, less bureaucracy and more economic freedom, in the tradition of liberal thinking of Silvio Berlusconi and the actions of Antonio Tajani. It’s precisely the opposite of the recipes that the left has supported for years and that today it tries to mask by changing vocabulary, but not substance.”
