Remember that part in the D&D rulebook that kept saying humans were more versatile than other races because they could level up in so little time, so that's why you could have a 40yo human mage fight one on one against an ancient elven mage, and so on?

I just realized, this is HFY fiction but instead of aliens it's plain fantasy.

@chapapoom@tooot.im @RickiTarr@beige.party Fun fact: I learned English at 6 with the "Follow Me" English courses from the BBC. Not "Follow Muzzy", but "Follow Me" (the grown ups version). It was pretty fun and the short stories on Fridays were cool to follow. I totally recommend getting it if you can.

Idea: Escape the system.

You start in a classic cyberpunk city, surrounded by e-surveillance. Little by little you need to remove your dependency on the system: Smart appliances, smart TVs, Subscription apps, and little by little you have to learn blue collar skills.

Next you downgrade your washing machine. Next, your AC, and so on. The end game is saving enough money to purchase a small patch of land and starting a farm there.

@tty Also, I create a folder for each series of webcomics I'm reading, so I can bookmark each weekly page and add it there. (Later I clean up older pages). So instead of having 1,000 tabs, you have a few dozen of folders and subfolders perfectly organized. If you're a creator or dev or artist, you can also have folders and subfolders for your personal projects in your HD, also to keep things under control.

@tty Oh okay. Bookmarks toolbar folders specifically. First, I add two or three actual bookmarks to the bar - my mostly used ones: Google (labeled "G" to save space), Gmail (labeled "GM"), youtube ("YT") and so on. Then I create folders for my other stuff: Learning, Job stuff, How-to's, Comics, Anime, Manga, etc. Since I have a lot of bookmarks I moved Comics and Anime inside a new folder called "Fun", but that's me. The goal is to have your bookmarks toolbar filled with folders.

Yesterday I fixed the main door! :blobcheer:

The bottom strip of wood had gotten loose and began making noise with the carpet.

I unscrewed the door, took away that thin strip of wood, marked a 1x2 piece of pine I had around, and cut it to size using my table saw. It took 2 cuts to get it right; after the second pass it fit perfectly inside the door.

I proceeded to glue it with 16 clamps.

I saved myself 40 USD in repairs, yay! 🥳
