They've made two good Super Mario Bros. films now. These plots are so blindingly simple and formulaic and full of tropes. And that's what the audience wants, as it mimics the games that created those tropes. How fucking hard was this that they couldn't manage it before?! And this could've been great cel animation in a joint production between Mirimax and Nintendo and Toho, before you come with the "CGI" excuse. Might've taken less work.

My day went so well that I -chose- to sit downstairs with the dogs while the neighborhood jerk was trying to crash his ATV by PORING over his phone while piloting in a half-stance at maybe 30, 35 mph AND, when I discovered that my partner was working late, I managed to calmly stand in the kitchen for an hour to make an unplanned meal (that turned out pretty damn tastily) while I cleaned as I went
