It's kinda like having a low drinking age. If the kids learn how not to go overboard BEFORE they learn to drive? they're so much more likely not to do it! (Crashing a bicycle usually hurts a lot less, for less long... )
Take away the taboo, teach responsible usage, there ya go...
(I remember in economics class in high school, back last century, we learned about types of ads, deceptive practices, etc.... I doubt they teach that in school anymore in America. Here? I seem to recall the Finns do, IDK if the Dutch do or not... )

@younata I've been mulling around in my head something like the diesel-electric drive on a locomotive... instead of a big low-rpm direct-drive engine, a small, high-rpm one driving a generator which could charge batteries and/or directly feed a lightweight annular motor... This has the advantage of, instead of a heavy, bulky PSRU in front of a fast-turning engine, your "PSRU" is some fat wires and a flat-plate motor... and you _could_ ditch the 24v generator and just have the big guy and split the power to an avionics battery and the prime mover batteries... or not, go redundant, and have separate buses for safety...
No idea how cost-effective this would be.

Je ne give-a-damn pas if she ripped off the stories, *Shakespeare* ripped off most of his stories.. the thing that gets me is what she's _doing_, both with the stories and with the money from them. I don't even give an airborne assignation as to *why*, unless it turned out that she was a willing political tool of the Russians or Peter Theil all along, in which case - drawing and quartering no longer being the punishment for treason - we should consider re-opening Long Kesh and stuffing her under it for the rest of her misery... but murder by policy is still murder, and supporting said crime is tantamount to doing so and should share similar punishment.

On the gripping hand, in the EU, the closest thing to a king-size bed is 200x200cm. _It literally does not matter_ which way the fitted sheet goes on.

The problem is all these people who *say* they practice a religion whose core texts have making the world better as a Very Important Thing, but whose true g-d is Mammon, that is to say, money, power, SUPREMACY... that and the ease with which, when a rich and powerful man tells people "your religion says do bad things to Others" they _believe him_ instead of instantly rising up and throwing him down for such blasphemy, and plundering his assets for care of the neglected...
I know. They killed many a man - and quite a few women and enbies - for telling rich men they had to care for their neighbours. Rather a lot of holidays have their origins written in blood. But if *enough of us*...

@catileptic Politics *is* dirty, AND, if you want to clean the political stables, you have to find *some way* to move the manure. Yes, you *can* be all "radical" and work outside the system but it works *better* if you use _all_ available avenues of progress. Just choosing the "cleanest" one, the one that means you don't have to *engage* with ... anyone... limits progress and subjects one to a single point of failure. I don't have to tell you that's Bad.
tl;dr vehement agreement with your viewpoint, and I love the idea of working towards _collective_ knowledge of How Stuff Works with an eye towards finding several ways to do a thing so that one can choose what works best _for oneself_.
