Been a while. Odd issue. Hoping it's just what I think it is. So...
1) noticed new BIOS for ASUS TUF B650+WIFI (1616). Updated to that.
2) Fired up #GuildWars2. Had 3 crashes while in WvW. 4th went BSOD on me.
3) Had previous BIOS file (1413) around. Downgraded to that. Played another couple of hours of GW2 WvW. No crash.
Conclusion: BIOS can actually make system unstable???
Throwing this out there to see if anyone happens to know. Every time Logitech's G Hub software updates, TeamSpeak and OBS Studio needs to select my Logitech headset again. It's as though the device was removed from the apps' device listing. It's annoying and frustrating because there were times I record/stream only to realize the audio device was not set after I finished.
Thought TikTok was bad. Now it's worse. Some rando idiot created an account and used my email address to bind it. Now I get random security codes from TikTok. Contacted them to try to get them to remove email. They won't do it. Would it kill them to FIRST VERIFY the email being used to bind belong to the user?! Time to create a filter to auto-delete all TikTok emails. Bunch of a-holes.... #TikTok

After contemplating and weighing my options, I decided to purchase the RTX 3070Ti. The 4070Ti pricing is not up to par and you're paying extra for the performance uplift over generation. This has been pointed out by Steve at Gamers Nexus. I opted to go with the 3070Ti despite that it's got less RAM and made using 8nm process instead.
Playing in Genshin Impact and got to a particular part. Having recently acquired a certain character, I figure I'd stand face to face with himself. Who remembers that scene from Matrix Reloaded where an Agent come face to face with Smith?

@RianQuenlin@mastodon.world I'm on Win11. Everything is back to normal after all that but it scared the living daylights outta me. The problem was Asus's Armory Crate software in general. It was just too much for what I'd use it for. I later found out that Asus themselves have an uninstall tool, which makes it even more mind boggling.
Scariest moment for a new computer. After having tried ASUS Amory Crate, I went to uninstall it. Had trouble uninstalling. Then tried to reboot. Stuck trying to reboot. Forced power down via holding power button on case. Turn it back on, no display. Status LED on motherboard showed problem with CPU. Quick fix. then RAM. Reseated RAM. Then GPU. Reseated GPU. No video. Unplugged GPU and used iGPU. Works. Reset BIOS, plugged GPU back, reboot. Works. #gaming #amd #pcbuild

After poking around, I find that not only is my Twitter profile link to my Mastodon profile is flagged as dangerous but any tweet or post to any Mastodon URL is blocked. Bleh. Free speech my ass. #MastodonBan
Talk about total hypocrisy. After all that talk about free speech, he turns around and suspends the official Twitter account for Mastodon. Elon Musk should not have any control over who stays and who goes. I knew from the start that he's bad news for Twitter. New computer is finally built and running. Over 9 hours split over 2 days just to get it all together. Ran into a few issues but they were resolved eventually. A warning to others who re-use storage drives from older rig: plug those in last if clean-installing Windows. Win11 didn't like my 4TB HGST HDD when setting up M.2 as the OS drive. #gaming #amd #pcbuild
(facepalm) Well, I hope they like their trash bins piling sky high and their restroom toilets turning brown and yellow. As well as dust continually piling up in little corners. Or door handles and buttons becoming bacterial infestation and incubation spots. As a west coast friend would say: "What could possibly go wrong?"
(whew) Georgia is sending Warnock back to the Senate. Glad that's over. Still don't know why people were voting for a guy who, not only being backed by Trump, can't seem to get his speech coherent. Is this how the American Republican voters will pick their candidates? Pick the dumbest one out of the bunch and hope he gets in? And if not, throw a temper tantrum? Let's hope things will settle down in 1.9 years.
