@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org @typographiesfr@typo.social it is a French standard yes, we have what we can consider « localised forms » for b, r, p, s, f, z and 7. And don’t get me started on the capitals 😅 i would be surprised if the font gets used in another country.
I co-designed this primer with @typographiesfr@typo.social for the French Ministry of Education and "La Forge des Communs Numériques" (open-source platform for educational resources).
A board of teachers was consulted to achieve the best result, and it is open-source!
Marelle is not just a font, it's a family with much features and variants (extenders height, color font with guidelines, capital cursive and roman…) to accommodate different needs and uses.
I really enjoyed collaborating with Laurent Bourcellier on the design and thanks to him we have beautiful images to show off this project.

@joanfrancesblanc @brigit_komit nous avons dû nous limiter pour la première version de la police mais elle contient tout ce qu’il faut pour « fabriquer » beaucoup de lettres accentuées en insérant l’accent « d’association » après la lettre. Ouvrez la palette des symboles dans votre éditeur de texte (sur Word c’est: insérer>symbole>autre symbole), le sous ensemble s’appelle « marques diacritiques d’association ». Vous tapez la lettre dans la page et double-clique sur l’accent voulu et voilà!

@thierryblancpain@typo.social my daughter is in daycare from 9 to 3pm, and ultimately I would need to pick her up twice a week. A good part time setup up (for my situation) would be a basis of 6h/day (30h/week) instead of 8, with some days being able to work an hour more and some days an hour less, and possibility of home office 1-2 times a week to save commuting time (it is easy to lose an hour in transport in Berlin). 24h/week would be better but I think the salary cut would be too big.

So… I’m open to a more stable role in a foundry! Ideally one that understands what it means to employ a parent (eg. offers part-time). I temporarily added my CV on my website, feel free to reach out or share if you know of opportunities that might fit! (2/2)
Throwing this out there 👀 After maternity leave I’ve returned to freelancing, and it’s going alright. But I really miss being part of a team and working at scale on a consistent font catalogue. My profile leans towards font production/project management, and I’m mostly called in for font engineering jobs, but I’d love to be involved in the design process as well. (1/2)
