@whitequark@social.treehouse.systems my primary setup reads off a microSD card, so if the host machine dies, it can just keep running hostless until it reboots that said, I wanna have as much off-the-shelf hardware supported for TAS replay as possible; other people regularly use my replay software

@whitequark@social.treehouse.systems yeah, it works well locally, and I've streamed with it a couple times; just hasn't been my primary device since it needs the TAS file to be streamed in over USB, and I trust the embedded hardware a lot more than I trust the host machine

It has none of the negative features you'd expect of a gacha adaptation and instead simply has characters with an unyielding drive to surpass their own limits, and conveys that with a pure electric intensity that makes their frenetic energy feel contagious.

It's kinda crazy how good this movie is; it feels like a gacha game adaptation has no earthly right to be anywhere near this level. But it strips away every layer of complexity and drills down into the very core of sports fiction, through the extremely simple and accessible endeavor of Running Fast.

Saw the uma musume movie. It's a perfect platonic distillation of a sports anime, made by, for, and about deranged freaks (positive). Had a grin on my face continuously for every moment of the first act. And the theatrical subs were absolutely *inspired*; probably the best I've ever seen.

every time the idea of non-ASCII usernames and identifiers comes up, I see a bunch of english speakers talking about how terrible it is that so many systems limit usernames to ASCII and that it's an equitably problem for diverse userbases, and then I look over at actual CJK systems and communities and they all use ASCII for identifiers, and absolutely nobody uses the non-ASCII name support that *does* exist (eg IDN domains) because the UX is intrinsically awful
