"The creature will depart eventually, question."
"I dunno Rock, your ball is kinda warm. I think he likes laying on it."
"Small creature is showing me new side of himself... He is vibrating aggressively."
"I guess this is your life now."
"Acceptable."
I need this as a comic so bad.
I don't get to remember the good times in my life because I instead have to save room to remember all the bad times and how to avoid them happening again.
That's what trauma is, huh?
Biggest problem with checking my spam folder anymore isn't that I get deadnamed a bunch but the insulting confidence that (1) I would ever own an Apple product and (2) am unknowningly neglecting its subscription.
I am no longer allowed more than two of:
• Long Nails
• Chiclet Keyboards
• Grabby Tendencies
I had already stolen the winkey to replace the alt after I broke the clips on it first. Bleh.
That story you see all the time about a woman fighting to be taken seriously in an environment of men?
Yeah, that's still premised on male supremacy. It's still based in how she's supposed to be inferior. It's not progressive, it's patriarchy masquerading as feminism. It's teaching girls that they should expect and accept obstacles.
When she convinces them to take her seriously, that's not feminism. That they begrudgingly accept her input eventually isn't feminism either.
Feminism is when that happens from the start. Feminism is when they acknowledge that she's entering as an expert, not proving herself by tolerating their jabs
When the story is premised on the woman being inferior, even if merely stated, it still often presents that as true when she has to fight to be heard. To pretend at feminism by claiming it's just sexism; normal everyday obstacles... That's exactly how male supremacy operates in the first place.
I've become aware of an adult couple in the Portland area who are struggling badly. They do not believe they are eligible for social services (they certainly are but will not seek it). One is bedridden at their apartment with severe bed bugs and the other is unable to remain in the apartment because of the hygenic conditions stemming.
Does anyone out there know of a social organization in the area that we can contact on their behalf? Adult Protective Services has been contacted, but the situation is immediate and dire. They're unable to access their laundry room because of the bedbugs and self-care of either individual is rapidly becoming impossible.
