I guess the development of Questlog is paused for a while. I just started with Vampire Crawlers and I guess every free minute now belongs to this game. 😅

Hi there, Questlog here. Your (hopefully) favorite Game Tracker :D
Questlog 1.3.0 just dropped! With it the teased new Game Detail Page but also a load of other improvements.
And as you can see a fun little Share Sheet, many of you asked about. So if you write a Game Review on Questlog you can share it easily. Was the QR-Code necessary? Absolutely, but I love QR-Codes and I wanted to play around with it.
Also fun? New and better Algorithms to get you to the right games faster.

The updated game page opened up so much things I could improve and ideas to improve the data and stuff just were flowing.
Ich will test this a few days in my dev build and maybe use the long weekend here in Germany to publish the update.

I'm currently working on a completely overhauled Game Page. It started by shifting stuff a bit around but now I implement new features and clean up everything.
The current game page is messy and it shows that it still has the initial design from three years ago where the only things were a few infos.
The game page has much more detail these days and I should've redesigned it at least a year ago already.
But better late than never.
I'm making good progress and I guess I'll can show you more in the near future. 😊

We have a small Spam Register Problem.
I really don't want to add any Captchas or stuff like that. Especially not these that connect to a third party server.
I wonder if email verification would help. At least for major actions like reviews. 🤔 But I don't care about your email addresses. (I do care that they don't leak or something, but I don't care in a way that I want to market them)
The problem with that: Users that use Questlog for years would have to verify their email addresses too to write reviews and stuff. I don't really want this as it scares people away.
I'm just thinking loudly here.

A new Update of Questlog just dropped. I improved the Reviews based on your feedback. And a small feature I always wanted to have.
It's finally possible to rate a game without writing a review. So after you finished a game it's only one click to say if you liked it or not. Nice!
Also if the reason you didn't want to write a Review in the past was, that you didn't want to spoil anyone, you now can mark a Review as Spoiler so the text is hidden. 🎉
As usual there are many smaller (and one noticable) changes and improvements to discover. If you don't want to guess, the unfiltered Changelog is in the blogpost that also goes more in detail for the main changes.

Ugh… Just got a "IGDB Partner Satisfaction Survey". The questions imply they want to change something to their free offering.
Fingers crossed this won't be a premium API in the future. This would be a major disruption to many sites including Questlog.
Most Gaming sites you all use today use the IGDB API to get and update data. If this streams suddenly stops or gets expensive many sites would probably vanish or suddenly also get a premium tier.
I really hope it only looks like it… I want to keep Questlog as a free service.
I guess 10 bucks a month would be okay for me as it's still a hobby project and hobbies cost money. But history shows that 10 bucks isn't really something we have to expect when premium tiers are planned…

I'm reworking the Review/Rating system currently. One of the main feature request there was to rate a game without writing a review.
I understand this now. It feels so much better. Thanks for all the feedback.
It will still take a bit of time, as there's more to rewrite, than I thought, but it's looking and feeling good already.
