@sashin@veganism.social It's hard to compare them because they're so different. All I can really say about it is that I prefer a trackpad between the two. As for finger strain, that's something that we really worked on. The spring's force is low enough that it should be much more usable than a nub mouse that only uses a strain gauge.

This is the #Ploopy Bean, a pointing stick, also called a "nub mouse", and it just launched!

In case you don't know, a "pointing stick" or "nub mouse" is the little dot in the middle of most laptop keyboards. The Bean takes this design to its full potential.

And of course, it's 100% open-source!

Redditor r/pelahale put together a great video about using ceramics in a vibratory tumbler to decrease the lustre of phenolic resin balls.

The reason he did this is so that the balls will track better in his #Ploopy Adept (which he modded into an Anyball).

It's a great explanation of the vibratory tumbling process. Give it a watch!

This incredible #Ploopy Classic build was done by redditor u/Alleeexxx. The case is a custom resin print in a clear finish (alongside a HG Titanium Edition keyboard housing from Norbauer).

Here's a great mod by Redditor u/DLCan. It's meant to be a "minimalist" mod, designed for comfort so that the user can reach all of the buttons without moving their hand.

This haptic feedback mod of the Ploopy Knob was built by u/Available-Mall-5253 on Reddit. It's an implementation of the hpatic mod originally designed by u/tuxedomakes. It's printed in a snazzy partially translucent plastic, which makes it look a bit like a Gameboy from 1997, so it's obviously awesome.

He discusses customizing the Adept to suit his personal needs, including flipping the Adept 180 degrees. He's also publicized his code changes, so anybody is free to learn from his work.

This great #Ploopy Adept build was showcased by KnuckleDF on the Ploopy Discord server. He used the files from the popular "Anyball" mod to make his build, added a SANWA 44mm ball, and smoothed out the buttons using an old soldering iron tip.

Looks like a great addition to a great setup!

The Classic 2 will be released next week!

All design files will be made available, and kits will be available for preorder. We'll also have an EXTREMELY limited number of Early Access units that are fully-assembled, tested, and ready to use, and they'll ship out immediately!
