@tek@freeradical.zone I'm under NDA and don't want to shame anybody, but don't worry, these folks "take your security and privacy seriously". What I will say is that there are industries that deal in important infrastructure (like physical infra, not internet stuff) that struggle to keep up with the evolving threat landscape. They need real help and I've been spending some time trying to provide that.

@tek@freeradical.zone With safety vest, hard hat, and clipboard, I entered a controlled site, tailgated into the building, gave a curt nod to anybody who made eye contact, picked the lock on the NEMA 3R cabinet (grumbling to the guy standing there that nobody ever leaves the keys where they're supposed to), and walked out with a server. Next day, I came back and did it again, this time re-installing the server.

I asked Claude to script install version 1.1+ of a program. It's solution was to install and then check the version. I said "specify 1.1+ during install, not after." It made up syntax. I said "check the docs and fix." It skimmed the man page and told me it was impossible. I finally told it the name of the command. Extracting info from a man page is exactly the thing Claude should be good at. But it didn't read the man page at all! It just searched for some strings that weren't there. #lazyBots

Claude is so zen! You have a bug, it will help you fix that bug, but if this bug is hard to fix, Claude will tell you to stop trying to fix it and just live with the bug. So zen!

Claude is so polite. Every time it tries to access my passwords, it admits it shouldn't have done it, admits I've told it never to do that, apologizes, and promises never to do it again. So polite!

@libreleah Huh. I once tried to put OpenBSD on a laptop (I can't remember if it was a thinkpad or a macbook) and the install went fine but I was never able to config a full GUI environment. I was repeatedly warned that daily driving OpenBSD in this way was not recommended. But I wanted to learn about BSD so I tried it (and failed). Maybe I will give it another shot. Thanks for the inspiration!
