Hey #snac2 admins, how do you proceed to pimp the look of your instance?

Looking at the possible upgrade of my #macOS 13.7.4 system and realizing that I’ll never use *any of the new advertised feature* of macOS 15. Worse, I’ll have to disable/deactivate/neutralize most of them.

#Apple, this is so lame it hurts.

Short horror story:

(da1:mpr0:0:1:0): CAM status: CCB request completed with an error
(da1:mpr0:0:1:0): Error 5, Retries exhausted
../..
(da1:mpr0:0:1:0): Periph destroyed

Let’s hope it’s only a cable problem.

Hey #FreeBSD lovers, would one of those USB-A to #Toslink adapter work on 14.x-RELEASE?
I’m considering using my #Navidrome server as a jukebox but my FreeBSD box does not have toslink output.

@soop@wetdry.world @librewolf@chaos.social I’ve just read about it but the post would not mention that Manifest v2 would remain supported.

Pretty sure it’s not trivial at all to maintain compatibility with M.v2 if it’s dropped upstream, but fortunately Firefox will maintain that code, for now.

@thc@infosec.exchange I get some results: VMware Virtual Platform VMware, Inc. Intel Corporation Phoenix Technologies LTD None but I tested as root (same conditions as the initial session you posted). On the other hand, the data collection is very limited in case of a non-root account takeover.

@thc@infosec.exchange I stand corrected. The check for VGA can in fact help with the kind of host (vm vs physical): # lspci 2>/dev/null |grep VGA 00:0f.0 VGA compatible controller: VMware SVGA II Adapter AES on the other hand, I don’t know.

@thc@infosec.exchange I find it weird that the script does not try to infer if the host is a physical or virtual machine.
