Usually looks are deceiving, and ergonomics are really subjective at some point.
Example, among the controllers I have
SCv1 is damn comfy, and seems to have the same footprint as this v2
XB1 is too open at the bottom
PS5 is halfway, but I hate the layout (good only for katamari for me)

As much I try to include alt-text when I post an image myself, let me ask you a couple of honest questions: how many people using a screen reader are on Mastodon? And how many of them are following Mr. Takei? Are you one of those, and/or their legal rep? Because if not, you're just being needlessly a third-party pedantic.
Alt-text is not mandatory (or else people wouldn't be able to post an image without it), and is indeed a courtesy, and one might forget to add it.
But for sure is not a courtesy from other users to point every-single-picture-sans-alt just for the sake of the argument, only a source of frustration.
Instead, one could have just jot down a reply with an alt-text for screen readers (like some good fellas used to do on the hellsite) without any further addendum and/or expectation and fix the issue.
That being said, I wish you a day of your choice and leave you a quote: it's better to do good, than doing nothing wrong ;)
