@denzilferreira@techhub.social Is sure hope that you, #Murena and other efforts are succesfull. I would love to have an alternative without Apple or Google surveillance. Too bad that is not a choice if you wish to use the official government apps like MitID, Drivers licence app, Sundhedskort etc. as well as bank apps like mobile pay etc.

@denzilferreira@techhub.social Nice one . I quite like the workflows in Gnome and Steam on Linux works surprisingly good. (I use Debian 13) The main issue I have had with this setup for gaming, is if I use graphics scaling on the desktop. Sometimes this confuses games so they run at a much too high resolution.

And now the whole travel planning goes to 💩. Train cancelled from Dortmund. Looks like at least 2 hours delay. Depending on how many other trains are cancelled. Someone in the train said “Scheissbahn“

Also punctual departure. Cologne/Kőln will be the test. We have to get out at Ehrenfeld and take the S-bahn for Haubtbahnhoff. Additionally the ICE train takes a slower route between Achen and Cologne/Kőln. 🤞

Returning from London. Let’s see if this trip will be as challenging as the outbound trip? First leg is St Pancras to Bruxelles with the Eurostar. Why is boarding so inefficient? Only one door pr carriage. Our ticket says carriage 5 then seat 87-88. It would have been much more efficient to enter at carriage 6. On top of that we have the sideline like boarding and passport control.

And it ended with 45 min delay. And a fast change for Eurostar at Bruxelles Midi. Somehow we made it. Last train to London out of Bruxelles this evening. Let’s see if this actually make it to London.

And 0 minutes to change in Kőln. The ICE14 was ready to depart with locked doors when our train arrived. Luckily they waited 1 min more and let us onboard. Phew 😥

Hm. Now at Dortmund. Somehow the train is now running 30 min late. It seems to be related to congestion at stations. Should still be possible to catch ice14 in Kőln.

This is not the original plan. Before our journey DB changed the schedule and we had to find another connection. I had to spend quite some time even finding out what is possible or not. Would it eg be OK to catch the Eurostar in Amsterdam rather than Brux? I think the answer is that depends on Eurostar curtesy. Why is cross border trains so difficult? /2

@xgebi @larstransportworld @jon there were plans to extend the line from Vejle to Give with a branch to Billund. But since it is only a single track, this would have led to fewer/slower trains on the existing track. Somehow this resulted in calculated net losses for society, even if the extension was free. Since the project was unpopular by some local elected politicians I believe it is either cancelled or simply ignored. So car and bus are the only options to Billund airport etc
