@deBaer@23.social 2 Wochen herum liegen lassen und dann nochmal probieren scheint so die einzige Chance auf Wiederbelebung zu sein. Ansonsten bleibt wirklich nur, eine neue zu kaufen. Seit der AW10 gibt's übrigens noch Schlafapnoe- und Bluthochdruck-Erkennung sowie Wassertemperatur. Gerüchteweise soll im September eine neue Ultra kommen. Ansonsten mal schauen, ob in der AW12 auch irgendwas Neues drin ist.

@masek@infosec.exchange @isotopp@infosec.exchange Letztens war irgendwo ein Thread, wo jemand eine Alternative zu restic gesucht hat, weil das wohl die Dateiliste in den RAM lädt und bei Ordnern mit zig Millionen kleinen Dateien irgendwann den Speicher sprengt. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass ich auch sehr zufrieden mit restic bin und da auch noch keinen Grund sehe, zu wechseln.

@masek@infosec.exchange Nur, wenn Google mit den Werbeanzeigen weniger als 490€ eingenommen und dadurch jetzt Verluste gemacht hat. Oder, wenn jetzt plötzlich mehrere Leute auf die Idee kommen, sowas zu melden und zu ahnden - was ich eher unwahrscheinlich finde. Also, vermutlich wird sich nichts ändern.

@therainingmonkey@toot.wales @delta@chaos.social Thing is, Delta Chat started out as a chat-like interface for email and allowed talking to people that only have (or can connect to) an email client - which is the one thing that made it unique between all those other messengers. Support for "classic" email servers is now a legacy feature with things like subfolder support being removed in the next update. All in the name of "security”. But if I need (and get all my contacts) to use specific servers, why should I use Delta Chat when there are things like XMPP, Matrix, and the likes? @delta https://chaos.social/@delta/116731626972297600

@isotopp@infosec.exchange Aber wer soll das machen? Ein Bekannter von mir war bis vor einer Weile Informatik-Lehrer an einem Gymnasium. Er hat sich dort um fast die gesamte IT gekümmert. Auch die iPads. War alles nicht wirklich seine Aufgabe und sein Gehalt war dennoch genauso hoch wie das des neuen GenZ-Lehrers, der Montags generell "krank" ist. (Aber er hat immerhin etwas Zeit dafür eingeräumt bekommen, glaube 1-2 Stunden pro Woche, wo er dafür nicht unterrichten musste.) Die Alternative wäre gewesen, jedes Mal jemand externen zu bestellen - der hat dann aber immer "erst in 3 Wochen" einen Termin frei und eben auch keinen wirklichen Überblick über die Gesamtsituation. Zudem gibt's in DE dumme Gesetze, dass man auch bei Gebrauchtgeräten 1 Jahr lang Gewährleistung bieten muss. Aus dem Grund hatte sich mein vorheriger Arbeitgeber auch entschieden, Film- und Schnitt-Equipment im Wert von mehreren 100k€ lieber zu entsorgen, als das zu Geld zu machen um dann nach 11 Monaten eine Reklamation zu erhalten. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass das bei einer Schule ähnlich gehandhabt wird. Hätte ich auch keinen Bock drauf.

@carolin @jascha @amalia12 @catrinity Vielleicht braucht der Zugriff auf die Kontakte, damit eben nur Deine Kontakte automatisch angezeigt bekommen, wer Du bist? Vielleicht ist das auch der Grund, warum @catrinity Person A die Namen von Person B und C sehen konnte - weil eben Person B die Person A auch in den Kontakten hat? Müsste man mal testen.

How did you get the 7110 connected - isn't GSM/2G decommissioned in most of Europe by now? Da haben wir uns lieber das Geld gespart und das Spektakel von einem guten Aussichtspunkt beobachtet. Und dann eine Stunde später das Londoner Feuerwerk im TV gesehen - ist eh viel schöner.

I’ve set mine so that m( turns into 🤦‍♂️ and similarly: (shrug) into ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (tm) into ™ °C (2 characters) into ℃ (1 character) etc. But OTOH there can’t be enough websites to find all these Unicode characters when setting this up. And your domain is great to remember. 😊
