Despite the parliament having voted down extending the interim regulation, the EU Parliament's president Roberta Metsola wants a second reading (=another vote) on the interim regulation.
Meanwhile, companies illegally continue scanning and forward the infos to NCMEC, which forwards tips to Germany... of which half (!) are not legally relevant.

The interview is completely uncritical! Haugen proposes banning cameras from being able to record child abuse, claims that it's technically feasible, only politically unwanted

On 2026-03-26 (Thursday), European Parliament will vote again on new amendments (https://www.europarl.europa.eu/plenary/en/report-details.html?reference=A10-0040-2026 ) to the proposal, potentially enabling new Trilogue negotiations.
