That's a bit worrying, but also kind of impressive:

Got a Hetzner CAX31 today, asked #ClaudeCode to setup automated preview instances for every Pull Request created on a specific GitHub repo, asked claude code to connect via SSH and set it all up - and it basically works.

(My experimental goal is to also include AI agents for the first iteration, but I need automatic preview deployments first. But that's just my side project scope, not real-world-project reasoning. :) I'll might release a demo repo soon)

@zhaph@fosstodon.org good point, I wasn't precise - I don't want to share the database, just the database (mysql) server "shared mysql server" - but one database per feature branch (vs. ddev - one mysql server per project)

Had a consultation with claude: ddev would be a solution, but with docker-compose I could use a shared mysql database server and save RAM. Therefore the leaner stack would be: n8n, docker compose on a Hetzner CAX31 „The 16GB RAM matters — each Craft preview stack (PHP + nginx + MySQL + Redis) eats roughly 500MB–1GB idle, so 8GB limits you to ~4 concurrent previews, 16GB gives you ~8–10.“ And my question: „Does anybody use such a Setup with automatic / ephemeral preview environments? Why is it not common in the craft cms community?“ #craftcms #php #ai #devops #docker

Automated Pull Request development with #AI agents for #craftcms, rough idea:

- #n8n for workflow handling (ticket/markdown --> start agent --> PR creation)
- server with #ddev and #claudecode (?) running, connect via SSH
- setup one ddev project automatically per PR / task
- serve preview via `ddev share` (maybe), to have preview URLs

Blocker: I'm not a #devops person at all, would assume that a MacMini would be most easiest as development server 🤓 But VM would be more profesh.

Things I wonder:

How do I connect all the parts (e.g. #ClaudeCode agent, Claude Browser extension) so that MULTIPLE people can trigger a new PR / tasks are being worked on simulatenously on the remote machine?
Tooling: Claude Remote Control, SSH, Open Claw (would want to avoid for now :nerd: ), other tools already available?

Anyone working on this? Are there already examples for such a setup with craftcms (or other PHP CMSes with a database)?

Things I already know:

#ddev has a setting called ddev config global --omit-project-name-by-default --> projects start with a unique project name, their own database, etc. (https://www.fldrupal.camp/session/use-git-worktree-ddev-run-multiple-versions-same-site)
craft with ddev (or docker compose) runs on GitHub codespaces, but there are limits, etc.
claude code has a git worktree setting, where each session is automatically in a new git worktree

I would assume that using a MacMini/own VM could be cheaper than GitHub Codespaces (?)

How would you tackle this:

1. Button "Hey AI, try a PR!" in a Ticket (with description / goals as markdown)
2. AI agent launches a new, isolated craftcms project instance on a remote machine
3. Imports a database, setup of project (composer install, etc.)
4. Tries to implement task in a new feature branch
5. AI agent can check frontend (via browser extension or other tooling)
6. AI agent submits branch to git (Bonus: preview URls for reviewers)
7. human colleagues check the branch out, test it locally, give feedback
8. Iterate (or merge)

Letztens von einer Bekannten gefragt worden, was gute Alternative zu #GoogleDrive ist. Konnte ich ihr nicht sagen.

Auf https://di.day/de/wechselrezepte findet sich ja hierzu noch kein Wechselrezept, digitalcourage hat aber was https://digitalcourage.de/blog/2019/datenschutzfreundliche-clouds-im-test. Weiß jemand, ob so ein Rezept aktuell in Arbeit ist? #DIDit

Aus meiner Sicht wäre ja so eine Tabelle hilfreich, auch mit aktuellen Preisen? Für Privatpersonen ist es Budgetfrage.

Und ohne #E2E muss man halt auch dem Anbieter vertrauen bzw. schlecht für Leaks/Angriffe, wie z.B. bei #jottacloud oder managed nextcloud. 🤷 (Muss natürlich jeder selber entscheiden, wir vertrauen ja vielen Firmen sensible Dinge an, auch bei Email-Anbieter)

@leonido@chaos.social Agreed. 👍🏻 Aber bei eduroam hätte man ja - ebenso wie bei Fritzboxen - auch zweites Gast-Netzwerk "eduroam-guests" mit geringerer Bandbreite direkt mitimplementieren können. Kenne die Geschichte des Standards aber nicht, möchte mich auch nicht zu weit aus Fenster lehnen ;) Dann wäre jetzt weltweit direkt eduroam + eduroam Freifunk am Start per Default. So betreiben halt (sehr wenige?) Hochschulen parallel Freifunk mit Zusatzaufwand. @hauschke@mastodon.social

@hauschke@mastodon.social @leonido@chaos.social Bei allem Positivem, bei dem ich dabei bin - #eduroam ist elitär, freies WLAN/Freifunk für alle Bürger:innen wäre hier ja auch eine Chance gewesen bei so vielen Standorten nahe dem öffentlichen Raum. Für externe Gäste musste ich an TH Köln damals WLAN vorbestellen, kam dann per Hauspost für den Tag. Es ist auch eine perfekte Parabel für den Elfenbeinturm Academia. Wer hat, dem wird gegeben. 😉

@steffenr42 Weil ganz am Ende funktioniert ja Lehre auch ein bisschen mit "Brauchbarer Illegalität" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0djcnzKkAs) und "Wo kein Kläger, da kein Richter" - was ja auch an sich gut so ist. Würde Urheberrecht im Lehrkontext natürlich 100% krass ge-monitored und verfolgt, dann wäre glaub ich schon ein Pain da. Aber auch Open Source entwickelt sich schon seit mehreren Jahren teils zu "Paid, aber source code einsehbar" - aber eben ohne echte OS-Lizenz, weil kleinere CMS Anbieter wie Craft CMS oder Kirby ihre Mitarbeiter:innen bezahlen müssen und Lizenzverkauf das aktuell garantiert. 🤷 Sehe es bei Open Source DDEV (https://ddev.com/) wie krass schwer es ist Open Source Sponsoring zu kriegen. Naja, wie gesagt - für dich sicher keine neuen Gedanken dabei :-D 3/3

@steffenr42 Technische Lösungen und Ansätze gibt es ja an sich zuhauf, erzähle ich dir nichts neues ... ;) https://liascript.github.io/ https://docsify-this.net/#/ Markdown, R, etc. Dann funkt da auch noch die Repository und Metadaten bibliothekarisch mit rein, Bundesländer-Initiativen, etc. Erzähle ich dir auch nichts neues. Aus meiner Sicht auch ned immer hilfreich. Am Ende ist halt der "Pain" für die breite Masse glaube ich nicht da für OER, weil es ja für alle auch so (halbwegs) gut alles funktioniert. Lehrender hat mich mal bei OER-Meetup Köln gefragt, "Okay, aber was hab ich davon konkret?". Das ist halt schwer zu beantworten, wenn Beitrag zu "Shared Community Resources" / "offenem Wissen" kein Anreiz ist für eine Person + es eigentlich keinen Pain gibt, Lehrmaterial zu finden. 2/

@steffenr42 Ja, kommt glaube ich auch auf die eigene Perspektive an. Ich hab immer mit "Open Source / Code Sharing" Brille auf OER geschaut, also dass jeder (oder Teams / Organisationen) mit eigenem Profil Inhalte weböffentlich teilen kann https://github.com/mandrasch/ Aber Code ist einfacher einsetzbar / lauffähig, das war glaub ich immer mein blinder Fleck. Vor allem wenn es dann um Video, PDFs, Slides, etc. geht. Hab so grob auch gelernt, dass Lehrende dass doch lieber sehr individuell machen, sehr unterschiedliche LMS oder Ausspielwege existieren, etc. etc. Und die, die vieln sharen, dann auch gerne ihre eigene Lösung vorantreiben und manchmal auch gar nicht so auf Community aus sind (oder CC Lizenz so gut finden). 1/

@steffenr42 Hatte mal überlegt, ob man https://www.humhub.com/de/ dafür aufbohren könnte. Es müsst halt was sein, wo alle sagen "Geil, da will ich auch teilhaben auf der Plattform!" Aber auch beim Verlinken bleibt rechtliche Verantwortung für Webseiten-Betreiber:in + Datenschutz für die Profile. Anderer Ansatz war ja edutags, wo man Inhalte anderer vertagged. Leider wurde das nie mit moderner UI / UX versucht. Hatte ich auch mal für OERhörnchen überlegt. Glaub das ist das Dilemma von OER. Das man sowieso weiß, was zu tun/bauen ist, aber es in den Förder-Strukturen sowie bzgl. Urheberrecht einfach schwierig ist? Weil technisch muss ich sagen wäre das alles nicht so Raketenwissenschaft. Gerade mit Laravel & Co ist man ja inzwischen ziemlich schnell kleine Lösungen zu bauen. 2/

@steffenr42 Spannender aktueller Überblick, danke! Ich beobachte das ja nur noch aus der Ferne. Persönlich glaube ich, dass für einen breiteren Durchbruch ein moderner Plattform-Ansatz ("Monopol-Disruptor-Plattform") wie Researchgate gebaut werden müsste. Leute legen sich Profil an, laden ihr Material hoch, können andere Aktivitäten liken (Feed). Siehe Pixabay, Instagram, etc. Urheberrechtliche Verantwortung macht Hochladen für Betreiber:innen aber wenig attraktiv - sonst hätte ich sowas längst fürs https://oerhoernchen.de/ ergänzt. Aber habe kein Bock (auf das kleine Risiko) von Abmahnungen. 🤷 Was möglich wäre: Plattform mit Profilen, wo man nur die eigenen OERs von extern verlinkt. OER World Map hatte da damals leider nicht Fokus drauf, MoodleNet wollte... auch nix draus geworden.1/
