@zimzat At least with other professions, there are governing bodies that help prevent abuse from managers.
Maybe it was just my upbringing. I was always taught that if you put your name on something, make sure the work you do is the best you can. It reflects on you. Even when I was working shit pay jobs, I took that to heart

Imagine you need surgery. The Dr says the surgery will take about 4 hours. 4 hours you pay for. You're about to be put under anesthesia when you happen to notice the Dr is spending a long time washing his hands and donning PPE. You yell at the Dr telling them to get a move on and stop wasting time. Is the Dr going to listen to you? No, because it's on them. They own the work, not the hospital.

The “If we tax billionaires, they will leave” argument is like saying “If we make murder illegal, then all the murderers will leave”. It’s flawed in a number of ways. But I’ll highlight one. We want them to leave. They don’t contribute to our community. Instead, they are a succubus. They rent apartments and don’t live in them. They prevent us from building the infrastructure we want.
