Yeah it feels like such a loss. Cassette futurism is far and away my favorite aesthetic. It seemed inevitable back in the day, and one could argue the fidelity you get out of a modern high res audio player and even a basic 1080p modern TV is miles better than anything we had back then, and I’m glad for that. But man there is just something so special, that we lost when it comes to physical media and the devices we used to play them.
