@yaxu@post.lurk.org i feel like this is similar to the idea that "all human knowledge is online now" as if (even in the best most charitable case) a complete repository of textbooks is somehow the be all and end all of knowledge and pedagogy

someone suggested i look up #permacomputing and honest gut feeling from me: it seems to be the kind of vaguesauce virtue signalling wordsalad people on the cultural left love that sends normal people running, i can't possibly see how this will do anything to improve digital inclusion and lots of ways it will make it worse. has anyone had any truck with the term? or seem any good irl impact? would be nice to have my initial feeling confounded

@spraoi@tooting.ch @evan@cosocial.ca this is my take too. for e.g. on bksy someone i know with a huge follower count started a dogpile against me and i blocked them on there to nip it in the bud but like, i woulda taken an apology on any other network, it was crisis management not a "never talk to me again". its contextual.
