Came out tonight to a county board meeting where a proposal to officially recognize June 2026 as #Pride Month for only the second time in this very purple county is on the agenda.
Folks, this room is packed to the gills with people in rainbow gear. Standing room only. Every person who has stood to speak has done so eloquently and from the heart.
Stories of love, resilience, pain, and tragedy. However the board votes I am proud of my neighbors tonight.
Update: the resolution failed with a split vote. Fuck them.

Conquered the analysis paralysis for one evening and actually made vacation reservations for this summer. Glad I can look forward to it now instead of dreading the work of research and decisions.

Attended my first roller derby game tonight. It was a lot of fun to watch, and the sheer number of queer folks in the room made for a feeling of safety and belonging I don’t often get to experience. 💜
Updated my name with the home insurance company the other week. Provided a scan of the court order and everything.
Today I get mail from them addressed to “Mr. and Mrs. Lastname” and both first names listed further down like I’m married to myself. I’ve been accused of narcissism before, but this is getting ridiculous.

Well that was awfully early in the season for a tornado warning! Had to round up kids and the dog to hustle down to the basement. Thankfully it missed us, and all have returned to our beds better safe than sorry.

@liquidlamp Yeah my car has V2L but not V2H. The power came back on an hour earlier than the utility company predicted so I just finished cleaning up the cables. It was a nice little test even if the power didn’t stay off too terribly long this time around.
Electric cars are so cool. The power went out on my block for reasons unknown about an hour ago, but after running an extension cord to the garage I’ve got my fridge and a few other essentials running off the massive battery bank on four wheels. It could run like this for several days in an emergency. I feel like MacGyver. 😂
