I take a short rest next to the Baltic Sea in Stockholm, Sweden, and enjoy the view. Out there, the ferry fom Tallin, Estland, is coming in. A few minutes ago, I passed by a group of kindergarden kids. They laughed, when they saw the old man bicycling on a kid's bike. I stopped for a minute and showed them the magic Brompton folding. And deep inside my brain I am content: I have finally switched to GrapheneOS.

"Oh, wie schön ist Panama" said the bear to the tiger in a child story written by the German author Janosch. I used to read this story to my daughter many decades ago. "Oh, how nice is Panama", I was thinking today. Here must be Panama, even I knew it was just a couple of kilometers away from my home in Stockholm, Sweden. Later at home, I checked the phrase in Wikipedia. Then I remembered: In Janosch's story, Panama is just a synonym for one's home.

The public transport system in Stockholm is perfect for exploring the surroundings of the capital of Sweden. The diameter of the area reachable with single tickets is more than 100 km. A single ticket costs just around 4€, or just 2.30 € for pensioners. A folding bike goes for free everywhere. Ordinary bikes can be taken for free on commuter trains, except during rush hours. Buying a ticket and exploring the network is easy with the "SL app Stockholm".

Summer in the City. Stockholm, Sweden. I took my Brompton out to Saltsjöbaden, 20 km from the city towards the east. On the way back I stopped for a refreshing swim in Lake Järla. Air temperature was 28°C, water temperature of Järlasjön was 21°C. These temperatures reminded me of my youth in Austria in the 1960s, when summer temperatures hardly ever went above 30°C.

Off to new places! I'm done with Austria for this time. It was nice to be here, but my Interrail ticket gives me another four days of traveling. Let's see what's waiting for me in the coming days. Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.
I understand that people need to celebrate such an outburst of nature like we had today in Austria. Fertility is in the air everywhere. With extra love I ate a coloured egg this morning. Bunnies supposedly were hiding presents for the kids yesterday. I watched two storks in their nest; they were about to make baby storks, I guess. Birds are thinking of the same thing. In the tree on the photo, thousands of bees were humming in sheer excitement. What a feast!
Another day in spring paradise here north of Bologna, Italy. Temperatures were just right for a splendid tour with the Brompton along the river Po. Saw plenty of pheasants trying to hide from me, and saw rabbits jumping around in typical Easter fashion. Nature is showing its happiness in full blow.
My neighbor on the train yesterday called me a weirdo after I showed him my Brompton and told him about my way of traveling. This morning, on my way to the bakery for breakfast, I saw this devilish-barock-sacral bike. Its owner came also dressed in golden clothes. Now, this is weird, I thought. I feel completely middle of the road now.
The Brompton got a really nice place with a view.
My two-day journey with six trains is about to end soon. From Stockholm, Sweden, to Graz in Austria. Temperatures are nice and warm here in southern Austria. I met nice fellow travellers for chatting, saw a wide variety of landscapes, and right now some snowy alpine peaks are staring at me.
