SpaceX sticks >A< landing. The Starship flight was a spectacular success apparently, especially the intact landing in the ocean. But the formerly reliable booster is currently a mess, with version 3 Raptor engines failing and especially, failing to relight as required by orbital missions and successful landings.

I was struggling yesterday to recover an old Apple ID, and was reminded again how much my dyslexia makes many security systems hell. I can't type passwords into the blind accurately, many arbitrary "strong password" rules are difficult for me to parse, and remembering strings of numbers or characters, even for a few seconds, can sometimes be challenging to impossible.

Remember when Repubs used to attack ANY adjustment or change of plans by Democrats as "waffling?" Trump has made enough waffles, in just the last few weeks, to put the goddammed Waffle House out of business. Treats. Declare victory. Attack some more. Make ultimatum. Back off. @greene And many of the ones that survived grow up orphaned because the lost parents. I knew someone who lost his father to polio, and spent the rest of his life hating the father because he thought he did this intentionally to get away from he and his mother. Great legacy, huh?

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca I learned this lesson back about 1990, when I tumbled through a rotted railing on an elevated landing, got tangled in bits from the railing, and uncontrolled landed on my back across a concrete parking tile. Then I had the fun of being loaded into an ambulance on a back board and with neck brace, and stared at the ceiling trying to be motionless, not knowing how many pieces my spinal cord was in. I was okay (broken arm) but we are all one slip from losing mobility and health.

Mastodon is notoriously a difficult place for new users to establish themselves and learn their way around. Now, of all times, it is important for us to throw our doors open and welcome newcomers. Bashing them about transgressions of rules they don't yet understand isn't helpful. Friendly reminders to help them understand may be. And most of all help them find their People. Finding some folks have a very incorrect impression of #Mastodon.
