This is about "Chat Control 1.0", introduced as a temporary measure in 2021.
To stop it absolute majority was needed (there appears to be some trickery from the right-wing euro-parliamentarians involved). So it continues to be active.

For years, decades we've been made fun of because of our spelling/grammar mistakes.
And now there is a tool to help us avoiding them, and we shouldn't use that because the text is much better with the errors.
Yes, I'm sure you never made fun of any spelling/grammar mistakes, but others did (and still do).

Japan nowadays (since 1873) uses the Gregorian calendar, so I suppose the dates are in Gregorian calendar (that's how the y-axis is labeled).
Yes, of course the monks will have used some thing else, but presumably whatever was used can be converted to Gregorian?

I guess that 80% means whatever tool judged the text estimates there's a 80% chance the text is AI, so a 20% chance it isn't (out of every 5 papers that get the 80% score, the tool estimates 1 would not be AI).
Surely a university wouldn't want to fault the student if there's still a 20% chance the paper is hand-written? (in the case the tool is perfect).

As Trump clearly still wants to occupy Greenland, it feels like Iran is protecting Denmark against the US the same way Ukraine is protecting the EU against Russia.
Clearly the EU shouldn't help the US in Iran: any missile they expend in Iran they cannot use against Denmark/Greenland.

Do you have a source for the 'age of majority in NL used to be 16'?
All I can find is that since the middle ages the age of majority in the Netherlands varied between 25 and 18.
And yes, children get gradually more rights/obligations between ages 12 and 21 in the Netherlands, it isn't black/white.

And that is what AI excels at: making plausible-sounding arguments.
The climate deniers can now flood social media with plausible-sounding disinfo.
