@technicalotter@glammr.us that’s how I did mine, although I think I had a couple of complex tables in their own files. And all figures were made in MATLAB/Inkscape, wasn’t masochistic enough to try and make them in LaTeX 🤪

@withaveeay@mastodon.scot @wavygk@mastodon.nz 2/2 Swedish company CorPower Ocean has a wave energy device at Aguçadora in Portugal where the Scottish Pelamis Sea Snake was tested many years ago. There are quite a few different promising wave energy technologies at small scale, but nobody has cracked it yet. Ps, I’ve been trying to update Wikipedia articles on the topic, but let me know if something unclear or missing.

@withaveeay@mastodon.scot @wavygk@mastodon.nz the MeyGen project has been working for the past 10 years and is starting to scale up from 6 to 50MW over next few years. Similarly with Orbital they hope to have next turbines in a year or so and there are a few other companies aiming to build out tidal stream energy in the UK, France, and the Faroes where Minesto have an underwater kite to harness the currents. Wave energy is definitely more difficult, the sea is a powerful beast. 1/2
