This is not shade, this is just my truth. I really hope Lindsey Graham died doing what he loved: getting absolutely railed by a hot young escort a quarter his age.

passed by a restaurant in the Mission yesterday calling itself "Hamburger Project." Also noticed that the space next door was for lease — which would make it the perfect spot for a Side Project.

“Moral reasoning develops through consequences—not punishment, necessarily, but experiencing the effects of your actions on others… It’s not that the wealthy become evil; it’s that their environment stops teaching them the things that nonwealthy people are forced to learn simply by living in a world that pushes back. [For billionaires], the basic mechanism by which humans learn that other people are real goes dark.”

Mildly interesting: walking out of a play the other night, one of the giant video walls in Times Square was cycling through various test patterns.

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.

if you don't give me an opt-out mechanism, don't imagine that I have opted in. imagine that I am finding my own way out, saying "fuck you" the whole time and singing about it from the rooftops.

At last, it's done! For the @oshwassociation@mastodon.social summit here in Berlin, I had the opportunity to put an item in the swag bag. So I made a whole-ass book. “The Last Promontory” is seven writings from the early twentieth century, and it's been so gratifying to see folks reading it around the conference. If you're not here, no for you need to feel left out! OSHWA is all about open source: open hardware, open culture, which is all to say I put the book online as well: https://thelastpromontory.com

whilst packing and tidying up before the OSHWA trip I ran across my original concept art for this thing, sketched two months ago when it was just a lark.

as a purveyor of emails at scale, I do not believe you when you claim to hope that this email finds me well. I would be surprised if you hoped for anything beyond this email finding me at all, and even that's a stretch.
For my part: I hope your email does not find me.

“All of us and perhaps all of you read that greatest of all monuments of ancient literature, the Official Railroad Guide. Who does not lose his breath when he runs through the pages of the Guide? The Tables transformed each one of us, actually, into a six-wheeled steel hero of a great poem. Every morning with six-wheeled precision, we wake up, millions of us at once. At the very same hour millions like one we begin our work, and millions like one, we finish it.” https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/61963/pg61963-images.html

@todbot@mastodon.social Thanks! Yea unfortunately it seems like an either/or on the TFT Feathers, at least for the S2. Setting up the TFT first, the DAC fails as above; setting up the DAC first, I get "RuntimeError: SPI configuration failed." I'm guessing this probably hasn't come up yet, since the DAC wasn't available at all on the S2 until recently. Either way the good news: on the standard firmware build, doing a displayio.release_displays() before setting up AudioOut is a one-line fix, so it's all good :)

PREVIOUSLY: desperate plea for help from any #circuitpython oriented folks: I've purchased a bunch of ESP32-S2 Reverse TFT Feather boards (S2, not S3) for my students' assignment 3, but any attempt to initialize audioio.AudioOut, even for the most basic example, is met with an error:

true HOLY FUCKING SHIT moment this morning: over the holidays, my sticker guys were having a special on red octagons, so I designed and ordered 250 "Slop Sign" stickers — but while I was in China, someone stole them out of my mailbox. Bummer, I figured; they probably trashed them as worthless. anyway while walking to the subway I FOUND ONE OF MY STICKERS STUCK TO A MAILBOX! Whoever swiped my stickers is sticking them up around the neighborhood! This is the best thing that could have happened!
