@jimkats@infosec.exchange I'm now considering putting in a change request to iD to make admin boundaries non-stick, i.e. someone would have to deliberately join nodes to it rather than it being automatic.

I play tennis. A niche usage of #OpenStreetMap is named courts. This helps me to know which to book. For example, for an important match at Preston Park I might want court 1, 3, 6, or 7 so that people aren't walking past all the time. This info is not on the booking site. Niche, but useful.

Sussex Uni's West Slope development is continuing. The buildings have now been demolished and there is a site plan on their web site. The Uni is generally well mapped, and I know that they use OSM as the data for campus maps #OpenStreetMap

@hisdeedsaredust@mastodon.online bonza! I'm going to do some tweaks to OpenPlaques now that i've 'finished' B&H buildings. In brief, many editing features are available only to admin users to a) make the main site simpler, b) reduce spam and vandalism.... and I may have broken the drag-and-drop location repositioning when I upgraded the site recently.

[apologies if this doesn't add up, I think it is correct...] 33k undistinguished, i.e. building=house/yes 24k terraced houses 21k semi-detached houses 11k detached houses 2k blocks of flats 1k 'garden rooms', i.e. substantial sheds in back gardens a small number marked as commercial buildings

Graphic is more about what it *doesn't* contain.... Brighton & Hove #OpenStreetMap now does not contain *any* terraces. All have been split into their individual houses.

In theory, that's it, every house in Brighton & Hove has been plotted. woo! I can go and have a long lie down! Neiss One says i've created 23k buildings.

In practice there will be the odd semi that is still a single building, and there are some oddities in the older parts of town.

@eco-g @openrightsgroup A bit of a Trojan Horse, because you *won't* be downloading a new app. Consumers will only see a benefit. They can use whichever parking app they already have on their phone to pay for the services of another parking provider. The NPP sits in the middle and relays the messages....whilst building up a [valuable] database of transactions. These transactions *should* be fully anonymised in a GDPR "Privacy by Design"-style. You are right to question whether it is.

@richardf@en.osm.town Interesting to see the tone of articles on OSM nowadays. Very positive. I would still like "OSM data isn’t always fully reliable" to just say "data isn’t always fully reliable" because any source will be imperfect, but only OSM gives you the agency to improve it. Last week's Saturday edition of The Times talked of a project using OSM and *didn't* feel the need to explain what OSM was.
