Two days trying to work out why the qgis-RConsole wasn't plotting things, comes down to the r2u build of unigd not linking to cairo (its flagged as "optional") and so not having raster output, file a bug and Dirk fixes it in ten minutes. Marvel at the power of this fully operational QGIS4-R system! #qgis #rstats

I've had this since the late 90s, it was the "ships computer" off-road in Morocco, linked to my Garmin GPS12 and logging fuel and milage, and went to Japan where I had an app that could understand Japanese letters I could scribble. Now, do I have a PC with a serial port...

BlueSky appears to be down. Has "It Happened" happened? We wouldn't know here, it'll just be pictures of moss and Raspberry Pi projects as usual.

What's that window manager thing called where you see tiny versions of all open windows so you can pick one and is it implemented in xfce's wm and I'm going to sleep now so you have 7 hours to answer...

The verbosity of Qt6 makes me think I'm doing something wrong. Why is it now Qt.Key.Key_Delete and not Qt.Key.Delete? Oh I bet there's some fiery arguments in the Qt slack/discord/mailing list/wherever...

Well I seem to have Juan Mendoza's R-Console bridge plugin mostly working in Qt6 in QGIS4 by replacing a whole truckload of Qt.Foo with Qt.FooThings.Foo - graphics not working but I don't think they were working on my QGIS 3 system... The denominator for this is corrected for the age of the population. I think its population between 15-20 or something, basically the age range you'd consider going to med school. Read the paper, or get ChatGPT to read it for you. After all, it wrote it. (NO IT DIDNT! WE WROTE *EVERY SINGLE WORD* and SEVERAL TIMES)

I saw two hares yesterday, or possibly three, because one magically turned itself into a brown molehill with a fluttering leaf for an ear when I got it in my binoculars. Hare next was boosting his magic powers by eating grass in a field, and hare last was the vanishing act.

Just watched a hare running along the edge of a field and then vanish by jumping into an apparently solid wall. Hares are magic.

I don't know if they mark a boundary, a route, or who made them, but I've wanted to record and map them for years. So I did a bit of survey work today, but could only find three in twenty minutes. Pretty sure a lot have gone recently.

A long time ago, maybe 15-20 years ago or more, someone stencilled hearts over this part of town. Mostly on street furniture and not private property (unless those were removed rapidly), they're gradually fading and being painted over, or the original street furniture gets replaced.

Is it possible to write an SQL script that runs on different DBs with different SQL dialects, or does one need a preprocessor and do stuff like "#ifdef postgres" and feed it through cpp (or wev) first?

@qgis Why does the Deb/Ubuntu Quickstart page section say "Simply install the latest stable QGIS (4.0.x Norrköping) in your Debian or Ubuntu without having to edit config files." and then go on to discuss editing sources.list? Should that be a link to flatpak/appimage installs or something? I would like to try 4.0 without touching my 3.x in any way.

Is it okay to walk out of conference talks with AI images based on the idea that if they can't be bothered to make their own slides why should I be bothered to look at them?
