I find it that days like this can be particularly difficult for those who don't have a working or functioning relationship with their fathers.
Y'know, I never really imagined I would have to, or would want to, go No-Contact with my father. It wasn't something I wanted to do when I was young.
Over the years I have developed an anxiety disorder that has bordered on crippling. Something about living in an environment where you only got attention for the sole purpose of being reprimanded, a place where I had to beg to be loved.
Truth be told, I don't think he was a truly "awful" father, he was just awful to me. Nothing can really take out the taste in someone's mouth when they recognize that other people in their household were getting preferential treatment.
Nothing can really fix how I was treated. Every time hearing your birth name sending shivers down your spine. Imagine being afraid of your own name.
The time I lived with my dad was a neverending nightmare. If anybody recognized or noticed that I was extremely flaky and/or would disappear for weeks on end, the fact of the matter was that I was being isolated from everything by my dad, my mental health spiraling and the only thing keeping me grounded being school and the very selective luxuries I was afforded. I don't think I would've been able to make it without my friends and all that my dad tried to isolate me from.
Its not something I'd wish on anybody else.
I know its not necessarily normal to have a bad functioning relationship with your dads, and I'm not going to say that you should do what I'd have to do. If you have a father who does care for you, please cherish him. Please let him know you care about him.
I wish I had the luxury to say "Happy Father's Day" to him. I didn't have the choice.
@RandomFactsAboutCats@toot.community Stubbs unfortunately died a long time ago at the age of 20.
@mos_8502@studio8502.ca yeah but the Dems are pushover controlled opposition so I don't see this happening.
shoutouts to the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters for having some of the best orchestral rearrangements I've seen in a remaster or remake.
I'm typically one, when playing remasters or remakes of older games, who likes to put on the original songs because I feel like a lot of rearrangements kind of skip what the original versions were going for, but I have not felt like I needed to do that. All of the beautiful songs have been beautiful; all the calm songs are calm. If you want to know what a good soundtrack remake is like, please listen to the Pixel Remaster rearrangements compared to the originals.
The attached song is Final Fantasy 3 Eternal Wind (Timelapse Remix) from the extras OST.
Being autistic, you kind of get a unique perspective about a lot of different things in life.
What may seem obtuse but a fact of life for one, another can see it for the intentionally obscure and arbitrary rules created solely for the oligarchies and social hierarchies to remain.
I keep saying "you are not immune to propaganda", because well, frankly, almost anybody can fall for propaganda as long as they've been fed it for as long as the average American. The American Dream, the cornerstone of almost all American propaganda; the belief that any honest man could make a good living, often through building a business of their own, is dead. It will remain dead as long as the money that flows in Washington clouds their judgement in doing their sworn duty of serving the American people.
Democrats, Republicans, whatever fucking party Jill Stein crawls out of every 4 years, they all benefit not the people, but the corporate entities that fund over 50% of their egregious spending habits.
This was the way all things end. Remember that fascism is the ultimate end goal of capitalism. It happened once before in 1933 with the "business plot", and it happened once again in 2024.
made a new drawing; its on newgrounds because of age gating.
