Bill C-22, the Lawful Access bill has slid through commons without much fanfare and is making its way through the senate quickly. We need to get the government to reverse course. @tkwolf@fursuits.online I’ve used Apple iTunes in the past to purchase digital movies & TV shows. I am not sure what the market is like today, but you can still do it through iTunes I know that, just DRM’d to shit. But in all honesty, sailing the high seas is the best option or ripping physical copies if you can. I like to have both physical and digital copies because if you lose a hard drive, you still have your media. Maybe invest in a portable BluRay drive for your PC. They’re inexpensive.

@foxyloon@blimps.xyz just a Schlage electronic lock, I bought it a couple of years ago now and I am just getting around to rekeying it to match the rest of the locks here. It may have been precipitated by the fact that the battery was low and mom couldn't get in easily.

Every time I want to give my Ender 3 Pro the benefit of the doubt, but more often than not I am let down by it when I try to make anything more than simple.

I've upgraded the bed plate to glass, updated firmware, added OctoPi to it.

But printing to it just a crap shoot. Bed adhesion, elephant's footing, warping, etc.

I've tried to learn from past mistakes, but ugh ... I just want a printer that makes clean, successful and accurate parts. If I am going to sink 12 hours into printing something to only have it fail somehow, what good is it?

Unfortunately the shop's furnace is shitting the bed so I can't do anything until it gets fixed.

I am looking for some input here.

I am currently in possession of a large quantity of various electronic components - such as Through Hole (THT) and Surface Mount (SMT) ICs and passives (resistors, diodes, LEDs).

I have been thinking about offering the sale of individual components to folks that need them for their prototype or one-off projects, and possibly saving some money in the process by buying local and getting the savings of quantity discounts without buying in quantity.

I am not looking to make considerable profit here as I am not buying and selling commercial quantities, but when I do order components, I usually do order more than most would. I also have direct accounts with some manufacturers.

I am wondering if folks in the GTA/Waterloo-Wellington region of Ontario (or anyone wanting to not deal with DigiKey anymore) would be interested in this kind of service. I could even offer local same-day delivery depending on where you are.

Do people see this as viable? Let me know your thoughts.

@s0@cathode.church I worked in television for over ten years, and we always wrapped using the figure eight method, which does exactly this as well. Granted not everyone has the storage space to keep wires coiled in a figure eight, you can still fold the coil over in the middle and it will achieve the same thing - so long as you tie off both loops. Fibre techs do figure eight loops as well, when they're doing large pulls. Neither way is wrong, both achieve the same goal. One may be easier for some.
