@komali_2@mastodon.social of course they do. The things is, how can I reasonably avoid AWS as a software engineer? So much infrastructure I use professionally is built on it that boycotting it would just leave me farming strawberries.
I have a higher chance of positively influencing framework than I will ever have of doing anything at all to AWS beyond cutting off my nose to spite my face.

- You've absolutely put more thought into this than I have, which great. I'm happy for you. You've brought up some very reasonable points, and I've definitely softened my position somewhat.
- There's a meaningful difference, to me, between "we directly support people with deeply problematic beliefs (DHH especially)" and "we indirectly support problematic institutions". Is that fair? I don't know. I do know that it's untenable otherwise, though.

The ideological endgame is simple: don't financially support people that want to cause harm to other groups of people, and don't defend that support by suggesting everyone deserves recognition.

@komali_2@mastodon.social @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org I can't speak for anyone but myself. If Framework came out and explicitly supported trans communities and condemned alt right communities, I would be more than happy to buy and recommend them.
Unless I've missed something, they have not done either of those things.

@komali_2@mastodon.social @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org Far as I can tell, the exact same thing that was wrong the last time this came up. The guy who maintains it being banned from other communities being a big red flag. I'll admit I'm not that close to it, though.
The point is: nothing has changed. They still support Hyprland explicitly. They still support DHH and his beliefs. I have no idea if they're still quietly endorsing Omarchy, but I also have no reason to believe they've made changes to their Big Tent belief.
