The new tri-planar imposter cards are better than the single card imposters!
Most likely this is because of a greatly simplified shader.
Now reflections and shadows are more accurate. Take a look at the example!
I initially overreacted about anthropic becoming a corporate sponsor to #Blender. However, after learning more and reading a lot of the community feedback, I see now it's not fantastic, but it's also not a huge big bad for Blender itself.
Blender is one of those things I love so much. I guess I reacted emotionally before seeing all the moving parts.

@mbt3d I'm really worried that I am. 😕 I really think it's too soon to call it, but... even if they do reverse course, we know now that the foundation could easily make the same compromised choices over and over again.
The community shouldn't be the last line of defense against such a terrible decision.
