So now all DNS leaving the network is DNATted to a Pi-hole instance I control. Not an option for most people, sadly. DNSoHTTPS is going to be an utter bitch.

Language runtimes shouldn't support #Windows. It buggers up pathnames, and wrapping them in some arbitrary object to get around Windows' brokenness just makes it more difficult than it needs to be on any sane OS.

Yes, I'm looking at you #Python and #Rust.

(19/20 in the first two rounds, then a rather nice 'ten well done doubled to twenty, ten well done, and ten well done' for the next three -- got a few boos, that; nobody else was close -- and fell apart in the final two. Two orders of magnitude out on the tie-breaker, which is what lost us first.)

Went foraging yesterday. ~500g of wild garlic.

Private woodland, I'm the only one who picks it. Did about 1% of the plants (3-4 leaves only per plant on the bigger specimens) over about 5% of the patch. You wouldn't know I'd been.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run It's actually funnier than that: it isn't 'Windows might catch up to Linux in gaming performance', it's 'Windows might catch up to Linux *running Windows games, pretending to be Windows* in gaming performance'. It says a lot when emulating something is quicker than running the thing natively.

@wren6991 6. It does so anyway. The whole mess is unsafe, broken in myriad, unfixable ways, and utterly disheartening. I hate the whole thing. We started to avoid blindly executing untrusted data as if it was code, shortly after the first buffer overflow was weaponised. This LLM nonsense entirely relies upon it, hence 'prompt injection' 'attacks', which aren't attacks, but a fundamental way the damned thing works in the first place, so unsafe by design. I just wish this craze would die.
