NGC 6992 - Eastern Veil nebula Another part of the massive Cygnus loop, a 20,000 year old remnant of a supernova that lies about 1500 light years away in the constellation Cygnus. This halo of gas and dust emits light because it is electrically charged (ionised) by the resulting radiation from the supernova. Seestar S50, processed in Siril and GIMP. M 45 - Pleiades - AKA Seven Sisters
An open star cluster situated about 440 lights years away. The local cluster actually contains up to 1000 fairly young stars. They glow bright blue and shine through nebulae - one of the jewels of the Winter sky.

M42 - Great Nebula in Orion
Approximately 1270 light years away, this region of star formation is a naked eye object when visibility allows. The central area contains 4 young stars known as the trapezium.
