It was a weird moment of realization. Like, I didn’t know that this was something I hadn’t seen before on film, presented without comment, just a normal thing, not even worthy of mention.

Very annoyed by the They’re All The Same club. The point is to move the Overton window. If we move it far enough – through patient, constant effort and small, accumulating successes – then we get to where we need to go. Declaring yourself too pure to engage in the effort just demonstrates your privilege. It was only ever performative for you.
In the future, when all video, images, and text are filtered through AI, no one will believe that a person such as Simone Biles existed. It will seem too improbable.
That feeling that the people you like online wouldn’t like you in real life.
Every time I see a poll, I imagine it's a scammer trying to harvest data to make future impersonation easier.
Joke's on me, of course. They already have so much data that this kind of stuff is chump change.

Second time someone in my family has received a "paperless post" invitation to a party from a strange contact. Someone they knew, but not someone who would normally be sending them an invitation. In both cases, these were scams / malware. They were pretty convincing.

Thank you for writing this.
One example: I’ve created an online tool for teaching myself Portuguese. I’ve spent 100s of hours writing code, building vocabulary lists, have professionally recorded ~20k audio clips, and my biggest fear is that an AI gets hold of a link and starts downloading the clips millions of times, blowing up my costs. So I turned off account creation and don’t let anyone else in. I would love to share, but I don’t know how to do so safely.

My boss has told me he has the same concerns as I do, but continues to push ahead with the party line. Everyone has bought into the idea of inevitability. I frequently daydream about opening a bakery cafe, but you know how they say the best way to make a small fortune is to start with a big one...
While I appreciate that it hasn't (yet) cost me my job, I hate that my entire workplace personality is being the anti-AI guy.
I honestly feel like the companies that have moved to 100% vibe-coding / dark factory are engaged in revenue capture, trying to milk things as long as they can before it all comes crashing down. #AI
