I don't care for pseudo-sciences. At all.
When I learned about neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) last year, I immediately thought it was horseshit.

Last week I watched a video by a dude (selling his workshops and courses of course! Sigh...) about how the Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a daemon in our brains that looks of patterns. If you train your brain to see bad luck and negative thoughts, it will look for them and find them.
I don't know how true that is, but it's basically the same principle as the two wolves from the Cherokee parable. The one who wins is the one you feed.

Growing up with a pessimistic and angry dad, I used to bitch and moan about everything.
I remember being 17, hiking on a paradisiac island, housed for free, and complaining how unlucky I was because my sunscreen bottle had broken. What a little shit I was.

I'm not fully cured yet, but I'm trying to rewire myself bit by bit by looking for the good things and not dwell on the bad ones. It's a work in progress.
